Seldén’s new Cumulus section, which was developed as a lightweight (0.9kg/m) section specifically for non-trapeze boats, is now available. This section combines light weight with a ‘dynamic’ gust response for performance through the range of conditions.

The rig was used to immediate success by David Wade to win the 2004 National Championships, combining the Cumulus/P&B rig package to best effect.

Seldén’s Olympus boom has the unique strength for weight characteristics necessary to achieve absolute mainsheet and kicker control.The redesigned boom slides allow direct attachment of kicker and mainsheet blocks for efficient centrelining.

Why Seldén?

• The Seldén tapering system ensures that our tapers are minimum size and weight. This gives low windage, centre of gravity and topmast weight. • All masts are heat treated in our purpose-designed oven. This artificial hardening ensures that you get maximum performance from the high performance aluminium alloy.
• Our spars pass through a purpose-developed bead-peening machine. This gives the mast a perfect satin finish that dramatically improves fatigue properties, giving you a mast that will perform reliably for many years.
• Top quality fittings such as our fully adjustable spreader bracket and highly durable cast gooseneck ensure speed and reliability on the racecourse.

Sections Available

Mast Specification - Cumulus

Standard mast includes tenon heel plug, exit slots for halyards, Tee backplates for shrouds, tee backplate for forestay, with jib box supplied but not fitted for 2:1 jib halyard option. Spreaders are fully adjustable. Pole lift is fixed eye and spinnaker sheave is ball bearing. Mast is supplied with draw lines fitted for rapid attachment of rigging.

Boom Specification - Olympus

Boom is supplied as standard with outboard end cutaway for light weight and increased clearance, inboard and outboard ends with sheaves, three boom slides, pole stow loop, and outhaul with cleat.

Spinnaker Pole Specification

Standard pole is super stiff 42mm tapered tube with piston ends and uphaul ramp.

Rigging Specification

Standard rig pack includes kevlar main halyard and cleat, kevlar pole lift, forestay, and shrouds, supplied complete with swage ends.
