New Seldén Optimist spars win End of Season Championship

Arran Holman won the Optimist End of Season Championships using a set of Seldén's new Optimist spars. Arran has been working with Seldén over the summer to develop the new spars and this was the first time they have been used at a major event.

Arran, who won the event counting 3 firsts and a fifth, commented "The new Seldén spars are really fast. The mast is stiff with a more even bend while the 47mm boom is incredibly light and seriously stiff".

The new Optimist range from Seldén comprises a flex mast and 42mm boom for sailors less than 42Kg, and a stiff mast and 47mm boom for sailors over 42Kg. There is also a 28mm sprit. All the spars are made from 7000 series aircraft grade aluminium and are hard anodised. Both booms use very thin walled tube so are lighter and stiffer.
